রাজধানীর কারওয়ান বাজার রেলক্রসিং অবরোধ করেছেন রেলের অস্থায়ী শ্রমিকরা। তাদের আন্দোলনের কারণে ঢাকার সঙ্গে সারা দেশের রেল যোগাযোগ বন্ধ হয়ে গেছে এবং ট্রেন চলাচলে শিডিউল বিপর্যয় দেখা দিয়েছে।
মঙ্গলবার (১৭ ডিসেম্বর) সকাল ১০টা ৪৫ মিনিট থেকে এই অবরোধ শুরু হয়। এ সময় এফডিসি রেলক্রসিং এলাকায় অস্থায়ী শ্রমিকরা জড়ো হয়ে স্লোগান দিতে থাকেন।
ঢাকা রেলওয়ের স্টেশনমাস্টার মোহাম্মদ আনোয়ার হোসেন জানান, “সকাল ১০টা ৪৫ মিনিট থেকে রেল যোগাযোগ বন্ধ রয়েছে। রেললাইনে প্রতিবন্ধকতা সৃষ্টির কারণে এই পরিস্থিতি তৈরি হয়েছে।”
ঘটনাস্থলে উপস্থিত রেলওয়ের ঢাকা বিভাগীয় ব্যবস্থাপক মো. মহিউদ্দিন আরিফ বলেন,
“রেলের অস্থায়ী শ্রমিকদের বেতন পরিশোধে জটিলতা দেখা দিয়েছিল। বরাদ্দ না থাকা এবং আইবাস জটিলতার কারণে তাদের বেতন বকেয়া হয়েছে। তবে ইতোমধ্যেই বরাদ্দ পাওয়া গেছে এবং শুধুমাত্র আইবাসে ইনপুট দেওয়ার কাজটুকু বাকি রয়েছে।”
তিনি আরও বলেন, “আগামী দুই দিনের মধ্যে বেতন পরিশোধ করা সম্ভব হবে। আমরা শ্রমিকদের রেলপথ ছেড়ে দেওয়ার জন্য অনুরোধ জানাচ্ছি।”
